Wolfes Metal Fabrication HD22 Planishing Hammer demo
Demonstration of using a www.wolfesmetalfabrication.com HD22 Planishing Hammer to make an air cleaner that is shaped like a miniature Harley motorcycle tank. Works very well smoothing out old beat up fenders, or forming, as well as many other uses.

In addition to the response I already posted, You might check out our shrinking disc video, (it is in the video responses below), as it will give you an idea of what I am talking about. It can definetely be used on welded or patched panels, and works wonderfully well on them! It is not a very good video, but its the best I have of now, I need to make some more on actual work pieces, instead of a piece of scrap…maybe I will bump that up on my to do list.
Danny, this tank I mig welded together. It was a quickly made piece, & size of the gap when fitting the sides together, varied slightly, so mig made it easier.
Yes, Tig is nice for precise work, & I do a fair share of that too, although mig can also produce very nice results. You just have to carefully grind the weld down, & then I would use the planishing hammer if it was work suited to do so, and then, use a shrinking disc to help shrink the higher spots and smooth the whole surface!
hi mate, excellent vid, very talented, did you mig ,tig or gas weld the parts together?i’m guessing mig? i’ve learnt fairly recently (been a panel man/painter forever) that gas or tig is more suitable as it doesnt introduce more metal to the seams, thickening them, but rather melts them together which gives a much smoother ,easier to finish result ,and will leave the metal ready for primer rather than having to fill to smooth over ready for finishing.justa suggestion and you are good at this!

Thanks for the comments….again! Do you do metalwork? Im sure people would love to see some examples of your magnificent work if you have some to show.
It is an air cleaner cover that they guy only had $100 to put into and it was not dimension critical, so the work was done pretty quickly. He was thrilled!
Im sure everyone appreciates your comments, as I can tell, you seem to enjoy leaving negative comments. Almost every video you comment on. Come on man, have some respect.
that shaping should be a shrink, where are your radius gauges??, and your pattern to use for the other side, it looks like your guessing on the numbers. . .you’ll get it
I appreciate comments, especially smart A s s ones. I apologize, next time, I will put the camera way up close. I am not a camera man, and dont claim to be. It is just enough of a video to give people an example and an overview of the MACHINE, not necessarily the work being done, its a quick vid of the MACHINE.

jeez, what are you building … Frankenstein?
no wonder all the paint shops I talk to hate metal workers. Take some pride in your work.
Great lesson, you let the machine and the results do all the talking…
thank for the lesson, that was great
I really like listening to Charles Stanley in the background. Good work and God Bless Bro. (Wolfesmetalfab)

Nice tank/air cleaner. Looks like an alien head! How about some finished shots.

Most definitely, they are a must! The machine includes free earplugs for that reason! LOL =)

I think we can pretty much deduce that you have the foot pedal engaged. We want to see how you are working the metal, not pressing the pedal.
This Video is just meant to be a quick overview of the machine including the footpedal and all, thats why the camera is out for part of the video.
LOL, its Red Dupont Basecoat and clearcoat, but, yes we paint alot of red. People like it. =)
Why don’t you just put the camera closer?
you have my dream job! thanks for the education!
i think this guy has a surplus of red enamal layin around
Good job!
